Value My Stuff Review

April 15, 2013

I am a terrible hoarder, I have a house full of stuff that I really need to sort out. I have visions of the ceiling landing on my head one day as the attic gives up under the strain. I love watching programs like Cash in the Attic where people find antiques and sell them for vast amounts of money. I do have some things that I wonder about. I would love to know more of the history behind them, but have no idea how to find out more. I then heard about Value My Stuff, a service that does on-line valuations for you. You take photographs of the item and upload them with a short description. They get one of their experts to have a look at the item for you and 48 hours later you get a report telling you a bit about the history and value of the item.

I own this very strange fish jug that used to belong to my grandparents.

I remember going for Sunday dinner at their house and being served home made lemonade in it. It has four matching glasses with little water drops in it. It is an item I really love but I always wondered where it came from and if it was valuable. I decided to let Value My Stuff work their magic.

I uploaded my pictures and my description. I found the whole process very simple and easy.  When you enter your information you have to choose a category for the item. This ensures that your information is sent to the right expert to do the valuation. Value My Stuff have over 50 experts in subjects like glass, stamps, books and many others.  The hard part was then waiting for the valuation to come back.

You get an email when your valuation is ready and you can then click into Value My Stuff and see the information. You get a valuation report in pdf format, an on-line valuation certificate and a code you can use for selling on ebay.

Using value my stuff

My jug turned out to be not very valuable, but it is no less treasured as a result. I did find out that it is made of Murano glass so came from Italy originally. I would love to know how my grandparents got it.

I found Value My Stuff very easy to use and would definitely use it again for items I am curious about. It is an easy way to consult an expert without leaving your home. If you want a valuation from Value My Stuff it is £7.50 for one valuation, £19.99 for three valuations or £59.99 for ten valuations.

Disclosure: I was sent an online credit to allow me to get a valuation at Value My Stuff in order to do a review. I was not told what to write and my opinions are my own.
