Three Foodie Finds To Try this Autumn

These three foodie finds are perfect for the dark Autumn days. Sweet treats make the day seem so much brighter. They bring some indulgence to chilly and windy nights.

When the cold days and dark nights of Autumn arrive they bring a need for comfort food. When the wind is whipping round the house there is nothing nicer than hot warming soups, filling stews and sweet treats.  Sweet treats are essential. Eating something indulgent can help to lift the mood.

This Autumn I have found three foodie finds that you simply must try. They will help lift the spirits and make Autumn days seem less dark.

Three foodie finds to try this Autumn

GÜ Mousse Fusions

I love Gü Puddings, they are always the ultimate in indulgence. Now Gü have brought out a new range of Gü Mousse Fusions. Each mousse fusion is a taste sensation. Each mousse mixes with another layer of complementary flavour to make a dessert of pure pleasure.

There are three flavours in the range. Choose between

  • Mango Mousse with a punchy Mango & Passionfruit Coulis,
  • Chocolate & Toffee Mousse with a silky Chocolate Crème,
  • Strawberry Mousse with a tangy Strawberry Compote.

or simply get them all.

My favourite is the strawberry mousse. The layer of strawberry compote has a slight balsamic flavour which adds a tangy edge to the creamy mousse. My son loved the chocolate flavour. The chocolate crème over a chocolate and toffee mousse is a chocolate lovers dream. If you like a more exotic flavour the mango mousse is perfect. The tangy mango and passionfruit coulis topping the mango mousse will make you think you are somewhere exotic.

These are great for a special dessert or just to eat when you fancy something sweet. Find Gü Mousse Fusions range in Tescos (RRP £1.80). For more information visit

Thorntons Desserts

Everyone is familiar with Thorntons chocolates. There is nothing nicer than a box for a birthday treat. Now Thorntons are brightening up the frozen aisles with their range of indulgent chocolatey frozen desserts. These will make a lovely end to any meal.

Thorntons Profiteroles are perfect for a special occasion. The box contains 24 light choux pastry buns which are full of Thorntons toffee creme. Cover them with the rich Belguin chocolate sauce for an indulgent dessert. The toffee filling is an interesting twist and tastes delicious. You do have to pour the sauce on yourself which can be a little messy.

Thorntons chocolate profiteroles

This could serve six if everyone only ate four profiteroles but I suspect you may need another box. RRP £3.00 available in Morrisons.

If you want a melt in the middle chocolate pudding then try Thorntons Belgian Chocolate sponges. Made with Belguin chocolate  the middle will come oozing out once you cook them. (As long as you don’t overcook them). They are a great dessert for an Autumn evening. They come in packs of two making them perfect for sharing.

RRP £3.00 you can find them in Morrisons and Co-Op stores.

Tropical Jelly Babies

I love jelly babies. They are so addictive, open a bag and they disappear. Its just like magic. Now as well as original jelly babies you can also get tropical jelly babies. Bring the tropics into the winter!

The jelly babies come in banana, mango and pineapple flavours. I tried them and the flavours are subtle but full of flavour. They certainly bring a touch of sunshine into these colder days.
