A good nights sleep sets you up for the day and allows you to feel that you can cope with anything. I know that when I have a bad night it makes me grumpy and touchy all day. Recently I explained that it is better to turn the heating off at night to stop you waking up feeling ill. Good bedding and clean sheets can also make you sleep better, but one of the most essential things is a good mattress. I know this because my mattress had seen better days and springs were starting to poke though. There is nothing worse than rolling over in the night and getting stabbed by a spring. It really makes for a rude awakening. I also had been waking up feeling stiff and sore from the lack of support my mattress was giving me. When I was asked if I wanted to try a Dormeo mattress I jumped at the chance.Dormeo is not a company I had heard of before, the mattresses are made in Italy and the company aims to keep prices low by selling direct to the customer. The mattresses are high quality, the mattress core is Ecocell(R) which gives you support whilst preventing the build up of heat and moisture. There is an upper layer of memory foam which is sewn directly into a cover which contains carbon fibres to prevent static. The top layer is also infused with protection against dust mites, bacteria and mould which is great news if you have allergies.
I was a little worried about the delivery of the mattress, it comes via Royal Mail. You do get an email which confirms your order and that it has been dispatched and delivery time is usually within 3-5 days. Mine arrived two days later. I was concerned I would be out when it arrived and it would be too big to be left with a neighbour. I had visions of trying to collect a double mattress from the sorting office with great difficulty. It turned out the mattress arrives rolled up and squashed into a long thin box which was left next door.
It also made it much easier to get the mattress upstairs into the bedroom. In the box it looks really thin, it has been vacuum packed somehow.. Once I got it into position I removed the plastic wrapping and spread it out over the bed.
The mattress soon expanded and looked like a normal mattress, although it is slightly thinner. The packet advised leaving the mattress for three to four hours before use which we did. We then tried it out.
At first the mattress did feel a lot firmer than the mattress we had been using. It did take a couple of nights to get used to the difference. Now I am really happy with it, the mattress is lovely and supportive and really comfortable. I have been getting a good nights sleep and no longer feel stiff in the morning.
The mattress has a 15 year warranty as well as a 60 night comfort guarantee, so if you are not sleeping comfortably after 60 days you can return the mattress and get your money back. I am really happy with the Dormeo mattress and would consider getting another one when the mattress on the spare bed starts to need replacing.
I was sent a mattress in return for an honest review.
