When choosing a winter boot you want to shop somewhere where they have a large range of boots. You may not be sure what you are looking for. Being able to look through a large range of styles is great. You also need somewhere that will ship the boots quickly after you choose them.
Decide where you are going to wear the boots. If you are going to be wearing them for work or days out then you do not want to choose a pair of hiking boots. You will want a pair of boots that look stylish but also keeps your feet warm and dry. Often women’s winter boots put fashion over function and you end up with wet feet. If you are planning on going hiking you will want boots that are comfortable and support your foot.
There are so many different styles of winter boot to choose from it can be hard to narrow down what style you want. First, think about the sort of clothes you will be wearing with them. This will help you decide if you want long or short boots. You will want a boot that is above your ankle so that snow does not get inside when you are walking in it. Tall boots offer additional protection from deep snow but may not go so well under trousers.
Think about heel height. Whilst it is tempting to go for high heels these will not provide much grip on ice. You might be better with a flat boot. Once you have chosen a style then you can think about other features of the boot.
Make sure you choose boots that fit well and don’t rub. There is nothing worse than having sore feet. Make sure the boots feel comfortable before you get them.
Since you are likely to be walking on icy paths your boots will need a good grip. If they don’t have this you are likely to end up sliding along in an undignified fashion or falling. If you fall on ice you are likely to get hurt.
When walking in snow you need boots that are waterproof or you will end up with wet feet. Think about what the boots are made of. Your boots need to be well insulated to stop your feet getting cold.
