Papa Johns Deep Crust Pizza is a new addition to the pizza range. They have spent five years creating the perfect recipe for us to enjoy.
Are you a pizza lover? I definitely am. I would be quite happy to eat pizza every day with a different topping. Papa Johns now have deep crust pizza in their range. They have spent five years in their test kitchen to find the perfect recipe. A couple of days ago I had the chance to try it out.
Fortunately, Papa Johns always deliver on time. When you are expecting pizza you tend to watch the clock waiting eagerly for it to arrive. If it is a couple of minutes late my son will inevitably start demanding to know where it is. At six o’clock exactly the doorbell rang and we took delivery. An irresistible smell was wafting out of the box.
Papa Johns pride themselves on using the freshest ingredients. The dough is made from scratch so it’s really fresh. The deep crust pizza features a special pizza sauce. It’s made from California vine ripened tomatoes. These go into the can less than six hours after picking. A signature blend of spices and extra virgin oil add flavour to it. Papa Johns bake the deep crust pizza for slightly longer which gives the flavours a chance to develop.
Opening the box we found our pepperoni pizza. It was still warm, the cheese nicely brown and a decent spread of pepperoni. The crust was not soggy and the pizza was ready sliced making it easy to remove. I always love the little pot of garlic sauce that comes with a Papa Johns pizza. It adds extra flavour when you dip the pizza into it.
I am not normally a fan of deep crust pizza as they be stodgy. When given the preference I always order thin crust. Having tried Papa Johns deep crust pizza I may change my mind. The base is perfect. It is not stodgy or soggy but has a lovely crispy flavour. This works well with the meltingly soft cheese and tangy tomato sauce. Pepperoni is always a classic pizza and this was no exception. It was a big hit with the family.
Ordering the deep crust pizza on the Papa Johns website is easy. After choosing the topping you have the option to pick deep crust.
