Nibnibs – British Nibbles Review

September 8, 2014

I am always on the lookout for new snacks to have in my desk at work or have handy for visitors or when my son is hungry. Recently I have been trying nibnibs, baked nibbles made in North Yorkshire. They are an artisan snack that come in a range of different flavours. There are two types, nibnibs which are full sized cheese straws and mininibs which are a smaller bite sized variety. I have been trying out the mininibs.

mininibsThe first thing that struck me was the packaging, they come in a handy sized tube that is ideal for carrying around for picnics or work. The packaging is welcoming with its bright colours and the message “From Yorkshire With Love” on the side. The flavours I have been trying are cheese straws in Cheddar Cheese, Cheddar and Cheeky Onion and Cheddar and Spicy Chilli. I also tried some Roasted Salt and Pepper Jumbo Peanuts.

The mininibs cheese straws are a delightful snack. They are bite size and crunch satisfyingly in your mouth. They then melt and crumble leaving overtones of cheddar behind. The tubs are resealable so you can eat just as many as you want.

mininibs cheese strawsThe Cheddar and Cheeky Onion have the same lovely taste with a hint of onion coming though and the Cheddar and Spicy Chilli are also nice. I did think they might be a little too spicy but they are not, the chilli has a bit of a kick after you have eaten them but it is not overpowering and works really well with the cheese.

mininibs salt and pepper peanutsThe mininibs salt and pepper nuts come in a sealed foil packet inside the container to keep them fresh. They are decent sized peanuts and have a lovely salt and pepper flavour, the flavour is just enough to add a touch of spice and is not overdone. They would be ideal for serving at parties.

I was impressed with the quality of nibnibs snacks and will definitely be trying them again, they are seriously addictive. You can find stockist information on the nibnibs website.
