Munio Candela Candle Review

May 4, 2012

Munio Candela Soy Wax CandleI was recently sent this Munio Candela Candle to review. This is described as a soy wax candle poured into a paint can. When I heard the description I just had to try it as it sounded unique and different from other scented candles on the market place.

Munio Candela soy wax candleThe Munio Candela candle definitely comes in a paint tin. This gives it a unique quirky look  and when lit the light shines though the holes in the top and it looks lovely. The bottom has a slight rim around it so you can put it on a surface without the whole of the metal surface being in contact with it. I suspect this may be good when it is getting near the bottom of the tin.

Munio Candela CandleThe Munio Candela candle is made from soy wax which means that it will burn 50% longer than traditional candles as well as more consistently. The wick is made of wood and it needs to be trimmed slightly before each use. I wasn’t sure how well a wooden wick would work but it actually was easy to light and did not create too much smoke when blown out. The paint tin lid is also available to pop on the candle when you blow it out, preventing smoke going everywhere.

The candles are scented using 100% plant essential oils and come in three scents, Inspiration, Vitality and Relaxation. I chose the Inspiration scent and it is a lovely pleasant, but subtle fragrance. It is really hard to describe the scent, it is a pleasant scent with overtones of flowers but hard to put my finger on exactly what it is. It doesn’t hit you in the face when you walk into a room the way some air fresheners can but instead works subtly to lift your mood. The fragrances have been designed to improve your mood, cognitive functions and wellness and I definitely felt much more upbeat when this was burning.

RRP £23

Disclosure: I was sent a candle to review but the opinions are my own.
