Beach Shoes
As its the summer thoughts are starting to turn to holidays and I want a pair of shoes that I can take to the beach with me. When I go to the beach to be able to slip my shoes on and off easily and be able to shake the sand out of them. They need to be easy to pop into a beach bag and carry around. I think a pair of flip flops or espadrilles would be perfect for this.
I had a look at the range of Havaianas as they have a lot of shoes that would fit the need. For a pair of basic flip-flops I like these Havaianas Brasil Logo flip flops.
They are simple and I like the green and yellow stripes around the sole which make them look a little different. These are very comfortable flip flops to wear and would look perfect with a pair of shorts or a swimsuit wandering around on the beach.
For something a little bit more elegant I would choose these Havaianas High Light flip flops
These could easily be worn with a summer dress in the evening. The slightly wedged heel gives them a touch of class and I love the pattern on the top. I could easily watch the sun go down on the beach at an evening barbecue party wearing these.
If you are planning on messing about on a boat then a pair of espadrilles may be a better idea.I love these blue Havaianas Origine, the colour is a lovely sky blue and the stitching around the edge gives them a nautical feel.
All I need is to be invited for a cruise on a luxury yacht complete with champagne to show these off, preferably by a rich millionaire! Well, I am allowed to dream.

Next Mummy Stylist Blogger Competition
My son does something that all children do on a regular basis, he keeps growing. He also keeps wearing out his clothes at an amazing rate. Holes seem to magically appear in the knees of his trousers and down the seams of other clothes due to the rough and tumble all lads take part in. He definitely needs new clothes for the summer. I was interested to learn about the Next Stylist Blogger Competition which is being hosted on the All Baby Advice Blog. To enter you need to style and outfit from the maternity or childrenswear selection from Next and explain why you would choose them. I was up for the challenge as it gave me the chance to have a good browse at all the boys wear available on Next and come up with some ideas for him.
Anything I choose needs to be hard wearing, roomy and be something that he would actually wear. He is eleven and is starting to get a bit fussy about what he looks like. If he does not like it he will not wear it. After a lot of looking though the choices available I ended up with the selection below as my final choices.
Summer Outfit from Next
My first choice was a pair of Camouflage Pull On Trousers RRP £12- £17 depending on the size. They come in two colours, Khaki or Grey. I prefer the grey but at that price he could have a pair of each. They are made of cotton so they will keep him lovely and cool in the hot weather and they look as though they will be hard wearing. They look baggy enough to let him play football without feeling constricted.
For warmer days I wanted to get him some shorts and I loved the two pack of Green Hibiscus and Light Chambray shorts. When it gets warmer I make sure he wears shorts as he gets very hot and sweaty doing the things boys do. Playing football, climbing trees, playing chase with the dog, these are all strenuous activities. These shorts have an elasticated waist and I love the colours as well. At only £15 for two pairs in his size it is a great buy.
To go with the trousers and shorts I chose a couple of t-shirts. I loved this Navy Guitar t-shirt as it is slightly unusual and has a retro British feel about it. My son has just taken up playing the guitar and this seemed ideal. It is RRP £5.50 – £10.50 depending on the size.
I then found a two pack of t-shirts, Slogan and Flag. I loved the union jack one, it has a lovely distressed look and I think it will go very nicely with the trousers and shorts. The slogan on the other one is We Play To Win, which in this summer of sport seemed very appropriate. The two pack is from £12 -£18 depending on the size.
For colder days I though I should get him a hoody and I chose an Angry Birds Grey Hoody. Although at eleven he is trying to be more grown up he absolutely loves Angry Birds and I am sure that he will love this and be showing it off to his friends.
To complete the outfit he needed some shoes and I decided that a pair of Grey Sky Top Boots would look perfect with both the shorts and trousers. They are high sided and look sturdy enough for running around and playing football in. He had a similar pair previously which he loved, but grew out of.
I would love to know what you think of my choices and also what would you choose?
