Lulu’s Bombshell Body Range Review

I was recently sent some of Lulu’s Bombshell Body Range to review. Lulu, with her team of chemists,  has worked on a range of gorgeous oils and creams that are designed to make you look and feel your best. Lulu had realised that there were no products on the market that were aimed at addressing the needs of ageing skin beyond those that were aimed at the face and neck. This resulted in a range of products that are aimed transforming skin all over your body from wrinkled and leathery to smooth polished and youthful. This is the Bombshell Body Range, it aims to bring out your inner bombshell so you can feel confident showing off your body.

I was sent two products from the range to try, these were Bombshell body- show off body lotion and Bombshell body- Super sexy quenching oil.

Bombshell Body Super Sexy Quenching Oil

The Super Sexy Quenching Oil replaces natural oils in the skin in order to make it smoother and more sexy. It contains a combination of avocado, borage, jojoba, rosehip and other essential oils. I loved this oil, it has a really nice smell and it absorbs really quickly into the skin without leaving it feeling greasy. My skin tends to be very dry and after using this it felt a lot better and very smooth and soothed. The pil is easy to apply as well, the top does not squirt too much out in one go so you only need to apply as much as you need.

RRP £20.00

Bombshell Body  Show Off Body Lotion

This is a lotion which is aimed at giving you sexy toned arms and legs. It contains avocado, rosemary, lavender and white truffle oils which moisturise and add a youthful sheen. It is a white lotion which is not too thick and not too thin, which makes it really easy to rub in and apply. It feels really nice on the skin and has a lovely smell which is a bonus. Again it is absorbed quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue and your skin is left feeling really smooth.

RRP £18.00

I really liked both of these products, the pink packaging is rather nice and looks well in my bathroom. After using these for a while I can definitely see an improvement in my skin and think I am on the way to becoming a bombshell! There are a number of other products available in the range, which I didn’t try. These are Revealing Body Cleanser RRP £15.00, Sole Survivor Foot Cream RRP £13.75 and Hand To Hand Combat Hand Cream RRP £7.25 for 30ml

These products are available to buy from QVC, www.lulusplace.co.uk and selected department stores including Fenwick.

I was sent some of the Zingy Citrus products to review.  I love the fact that all these  products have pictures of  colourful collection of squeaky clean ‘super kids’ – Cosmo, Sophie, Leo, Daya and Spiro.  Spiro is actually a dog.  On the back of the bottles different super kids offer earth friendly idea, which definitely captured my sons imagination. The different products have different suggestions on them which adds variety. He was very taken with the idea of being a super kid and having a product just for him.

Handwash

The hand wash is a godsend.  Its a really easy to use pump dispenser and placed strategically in the bathroom it encouraged my son to wash his hands when required. Usually I have to remind him to do this.  The smell is lovely, really orangey and refreshing.

Shampoo & Bodywash

Again this has a lovely orange smell. The good thing is that the lid is carefully designed so only a small amount comes out at once.  My son has a terrible habit of pouring half a bottle of shampoo out in any one go and then wondering why there is none left. With this bottle he in unable to do this. Its nice that the shampoo and body wash are in the same product. This makes it easy for him as he only needs to grab one product to be clean.

Body Lotion

This again is a cleverly designed pump action bottle so you only get a selected amount out of the bottle at any one time. It absorbs quickly into the skin leaving your skin feeling soft and well moisturised without being sticky.

The Earth Friendly Kids line-up is available from selected Waitrose stores, good baby and health stores and via www.HealthQuestStore.com (customers should call 0845 310 4411 for details of their nearest stockist). You can also find them on Facebook here

Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion

Its nearly summer, or maybe we have had our summer, but having said that its time to start getting your skin ready for exposure. Nivea have a new product, Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion which uses a Hydra IQ moisturising system. This is meant to make use of the discovery of the skin’s natural hydration system, aquaporin channels. Apparently these were the discovery of Nobel Prize in Chemistry winner Peter Agre, and they are the plumbing system for cells, allowing water to move through the cell in an organised way.  As a result this lotion is meant to make the skin feel super hydrated and provide long lasting moisture.

The packaging is nice, the bottle is a nice contoured shape which makes it easy to grasp and apply, even with slippery hands. Its not too big which makes it ideal for packing in a wash bag for use after swimming or going away.

When you first open the bottle you can smell the lotion. It is a really nice fresh smell but not overpowering.  It is a blue lotus scent and it lingers very well on the skin lasting for quite a long time.

When first applied the lotion feels a little bit sticky, but I found that it soon absorbs into the skin. After use my skin definitely felt softer and this feeling did last a lot longer than with my other body moisturisers. This is great as I have dry skin and this definitely made my skin feel smoother and less dry and tight. It is good value at  RRP £3.89 for 250ml. I liked this moisturiser and would use it again.

Earth Friendly Kids Natural Body care products

I was recently sent a set of the Minty Lavender range of products from Earth Friendly Kids to review. To help me in this task I enlisted my ten year old son, who was rather thrilled to have a testing mission.  The products we were sent were Minty Lavender shampoo and body wash, Minty Lavender Bubble bath, Minty Lavender Handwash and Minty Lavender Body Lotion. The products use all natural ingredients,  and do not contain any sodium laureth or any parabens. This is brilliant as for children with problem skin as these are known irritants.

First thing I noticed about the packaging was the labels. They feature a range of superkids and in fact the products carry

the tag line that they are products for superkids. This really appealed to my son.  The labels show different children and a dog and on the back they all come up with a unique idea for saving the planet. This caught my sons imagination and he was very pleased to be thought of as a superkid and started coming up with strange ideas almost instantly. The products themselves were in nice shaped bottles, which were ideal for smaller hands.

The first product we tried was the Minty Lavender Bubble bath.

I was not sure what the smell was going to be like, but it was actually quite pleasant. A bit more minty than lavendar but not overpowering.  As you can see a small amount of the product actually produced a large amount of bubbles and they lasted well. Usually the bubbles have vanished by the time my son finishes splashing around in the bath but this time they were still there. He was very pleased as he got to spend time building bubble castles.

Along side this product he tried out the Minty Lavender shampoo and body wash. Its a nice idea having a shampoo and body wash all in one as its less products lined up on the side of the bath and your children know exactly what to wash with. This created a nice amount of lather and the great thing was the lid only let a small amount of the product out at once. My son has been known to be a bit over generous with shampoo which means they get used up very quickly so this is ideal. Currently he has decided he likes this product so much he is not going to use it until he has used up all his other shampoo i.e saving the best till last!

The minty lavender  body lotion comes in a pump top dispenser which is great as it meant my son could manage it himself without getting lotion all over the place. The lotion feels a bit sticky at first but it soon sinks into the skin leaving it soft and smooth. The scent is again more minty than lavender but it is nice and it seems to last on the skin very well. My only concern about this is that with the pump top it may not be possible to get the bottom of the product out of the bottle, but I will not know until I reach the end.  This is good for dry skin as well as it seems to really calm it.

The final product we tried was the Minty Lavender Handwash. Again this was in a pump top dispenser which makes it easy to use. I left this by the sink and I must say it worked brilliantly in making my son remember to wash his hands. He was really pleased to have a product that was just for him. It has a nice smell again and leaves the hands feeling soft.

If you are not keen on the idea of mint and lavender, they also do a Zesty Citrus range which I have not tested.  The products are a reasonable price, the RRP for the Minty Lavender shampoo and body wash, Minty Lavender Bubble bath, Minty Lavender Handwash is £3.99 and the RRP for the body lotion is £4.99.  They also do wipes which are always handy to have.

My son loved these products and I would definitely consider getting them again in the future.
