Radox Muscle Therapy Review

I recently have been getting back into running. Last year I was doing quite well, going for a run every morning and gradually building up my distance. I then had a series of set backs, first was the weather. It is not pleasant running in the pitch dark along paths filled with mud. Then my asthma suddenly got worse and I found I could not breath. Finally I managed to fracture a rib by slipping downstairs and catching my side on the cupboards at the bottom. I am now back to my normal self and the warm weather and light mornings has made me get out running again. It is going to take me a while to build up my fitness level to what it was previously but I am enjoying it and the dog is as well.
The problem with running is that you end up with aching muscles. Radox have a solution to this and recently sent me some of their Radox Muscle Therapy to try.

Radox Muscle TherapyThis is a bubble bath that contains a blend of ginseng and black pepper which helps to warm your muscles and sooth away aches and pains. It smells lovely as well and you get a big mound of bubbles to sink into.

photo Radox2_zps6f7d1433.jpgI have to admit that after my bath I felt a lot more relaxed and less stiff. My skin also felt soft as well which was an added bonus. Radox Muscle Therapy was a perfect way to relax.

I don’t think I will be running any marathons this year but you never know, one of these days I might do the Great North Run. You can find more information about Radox products on their website http://www.be-selfish.co.uk or visit them on Facebook

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Range Review

With Easter on the way my mind turns to chocolate. I haven’t been sent any chocolate to try but Vaseline were nice enough to send me their Vaseline Cocoa Butter Range to review. It is probably just as well as these chocolate treats are calorie free so I don’t need to worry about my weight. With this cold weather we have been having my skin has really been suffering as well. The Vaseline Cocoa Butter collection is meant to trap moisture in your skin keeping it healthy with a natural glow.

There are four products in the range, Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Butter, Vaseline Cocoa Butter Gel Body Oil, Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lip Therapy and  Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Lotion.

Before I discuss each of the products in more depth, I have to mention the smell of the products. Each of them has an incredible smell of chocolate which is absolutely gorgeous. Using these products will make you hungry and my dog was convinced I had chocolate hidden somewhere on my person after I used them. You can definitely tell they contain cocoa butter

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Gel Body Oil (RRP £5.10)

photo VaselineCocoa5_zps70fd52ff.jpgThis is quite an oily gel and it is best used after having a bath. You do not need to use much to get a moisturised effect, if you use too much it can feel a bit sticky. Having said that it made my skin feel really soft and give it a lovely sheen that lasted over night and well into the next day. If you have really dry skin this would be perfect for giving it a moisture boost or ideal for getting your skin into shape for the summer.

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Lotion ( RRP £3.36)

photo VaselineCocoa4_zpsfa002fff.jpgThis is a light lotion which is great for everyday use. As well as the cocoa butter which will help even the skin tone it contains Vitamin E. I found this sunk easily into the skin and was absorbed quickly making my skin feel really soft. The effect lasted for ages as well. My skin is definitely looking much better since using this.

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Butter (RRP £5.10)

photo VaselineCocoa2_zps976fa8fe.jpgThe Vaseline body butter contains cocoa butter and shea butters to condition and moisturise the skin. The body butter feels really rich and it sinks gently into the skin leaving it feeling really soft and well moisturised. The body butter has a decadent feel about it and left my skin with a healthy looking glow.

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lip Therapy (RRP £1.93)

 photo VaselineCocoa3_zpsc99f3687.jpg

Vaseline lip therapy is just what I needed to keep my lips feeling soft in this weather where the wind is cold and biting. It smooths on easily and leaves my lips feeling soft and protected. The tin is an ideal size to slip into your handbag to use whenever you need it.

I really liked the Vaseline Cocoa Butter collection and would definitely use it again. You can find the range in all leading supermarkets and chemists including Superdrug and Boots

Vaseline Intensive Rescue Products Review

With this cold weather we have been having recently I have found that my skin is really suffering. It is prone to dryness at the best of times but I find the cold weather really effects my skin badly. When I walk the dog in the morning I can feel the biting winds on my skin. I need something to protect it and I was really pleased to be asked to try the Vaseline Intensive Rescue Products range.

 photo Vaseline_zps73ae4b91.jpg
There are a number of different products in the range and they are all aimed at making your skin feel soft and protected, despite the cold weather. I was looking forward to trying them out and seeing if they helped my skin.

Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Body Cream (RRP £4.07)

photo Vaseline2_zps0d9ba079.jpgThe Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Cream comes in a tub and is meant to keep the skin looking soft and supple whilst providing a moisturised feeling that lasts all day. It also is meant to accelerate dry skin’s ability to repair itself.

After opening the lid and undoing the silver seal I found  quite a thick white cream inside. The cream has no noticeable smell and when I put it on my skin it absorbed it really quickly. My skin instantly looked less dry and felt a lot softer. The effect lasted for ages as well and I have noticed a definite improvement while I have been using this cream.

Vaseline Lip Therapy

photo Vaseline4_zps8918dbb0.jpgI always find I suffer from dry cracked lips when the weather is cold and these little pots of Vaseline Lip Therapy are ideal for carrying in the handbag. A slick of this makes my lips feel much softer and it protects against the harsh wind as well.

Vaseline Intensive Rescue Repair and Protect Lotion (RRP £4.99)

photo Vaseline5_zps3fd1f30e.jpgVaseline Intensive Rescue Repair and Protect Lotion can be used to target areas of extreme dry skin and will help to prevent dry skin flaring up. It is meant to increase the ability of the skin to repair itself and relieve dry itchy skin. I have some areas of skin on my wrists that are really dry and itchy and tried this out on these areas. Again it is white in colour but is a lot more runny in texture than the Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Body Cream. This will be because it is a lotion but it was still absorbed quickly into the skin. My skin felt less itchy after using it and after continued use the dry patches are definitely clearing up and are almost gone. It is unfragranced  and hypo-allergenic which is good as my skin can react to some skin creams.

Vaseline Moisture Locking Body Lotion (RRP £3.36)

photo Vaseline6_zps192c275e.jpgVaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Body Lotion is a lotion version of the Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Cream. It will also keep your skin soft and supple and provide moisture that lasts all day. It is a white lotion in appearance  and while not being as thick as the cream still provides lots of moisture to the skin leaving it feeling soft.  This effect lasted all day, despite being out in the cold weather.

I really liked this range of products and have definitely noticed a big improvement in my skin since using them. You can find Vaseline Intensive Rescue products in most supermarkets and chemists including Superdrug and Boots.

Spa Find Heavenly Hyrdration Foot Cream

I love getting surprise blogger packages and when a lovely white box with pink ribbon arrived on my doorstep I was intrigued. When I opened it up I found nestling in tissue paper this Spa Find Heavenly Hydration Foot Cream.

photo SpaFind_zpsa741a421.jpgSpa Find is a professional skincare range whose products are rich in natural minerals from the Dead Sea and organic plant extracts like olive oil and Aloe Vera. They have relaunched a number of their products with a new anti-ageing and skin nourishing complex. This new ingredient is Mineral-Age Nanoplex and it is a mineral blend of Zinc, Copper and Magnesium which will repair, hydrate and fight free radicals to leave the skin looking youthful.

The Spa Find Heavenly Hydration Foot Cream is meant to bring feet back from the brink and repair dry cracked skin. It sounded like just what I needed as my feet are looking a bit worse for wear following the winter. I need to get them back into shape for wearing summer sandals again.

Inside the box I found the tube of foot cream in a stylish grey tube with an easy to open flip top lid. The tube can be stood upright on the lid which is great for storing in bathroom cupboards.

photo SpaFind2_zpsb83efbb1.jpgThere was also a little product feedback leaflet which allows you to send your feedback on the product to SpaFind and they will use it to improve the product.

I opened the tube to be met with a lovely citrus smell which was lovely. The Spa Find Heavenly Hydration Foot Cream contains Aloe Vera, Grapefruit, Mango, Peach, Camellia, Ginger, Chamomile, Jasmine, Rose and Coconut as well as Dead Sea Minerals and Mineral-Age Nanoplex. The smell is gorgeous. The cream itself is white in colour and sinks easily into the skin of the feet leaving them feeling much softer. It also has a relaxing feel and this cream would be perfect for tired feet.

After using this cream for a while I have noticed that my feet are a lot softer and the skin much less cracked and smoother. This is a lovely cream to use and it works well.

Spa Find Heavenly Hydration Foot Care Cream is RRP £18.45. You can find the Spa Find range at spas and clinics around the UK or on-line at www.spafindskin.com and www.shopforspa.com.

Visionary Soap Company Review

I love discovering new products and recently I noticed that the Visionary Soap Company were looking for bloggers. The Visionary Soap Company was not a company I was familiar with so I decided to find out more about them.
photo VSCLogoIngeniousCrimsonSmaller_zps386a2bd1.jpgThe first thing I found out is that they are a Fairtrade company and all the ingredients that are used in their products are sourced ethically. The Visionary Soap Company uses Olive Oil from Palestinian Fair Trade Producers Company, Shea Butter from the Akoma Cooperative Multipurpose Society, Cocoa butter from Conacado in the Dominican Republic, herbs and spices from SOFA, the Small Organic Farmer Association in Sri Lanka, sesame seed from Del Campo in Nicaragua and Rooibos from Citrusdal Bergendal in South Africa. Sourcing the ingredients from Fairtrade sources is beneficial to the local communities and gives local people a better quality of life as well as valuable skills. All of the Visionary Soap Companies products have been certified in accordance with international Fairtrade standards.

The Visionary Soap Company goes a step further though as all the products are hand-made in the UK. They are based in Hastings and work with the Hastings Trust in a community project that provides employment to the local community. All of the products are free from  palm oil, synthetic dyes or fragrances, parabens, petroleum-based ingredients, alcohol, sodium laureth sulphate and animal products. They are also GMO and gluten free. I was looking forward to trying them out.

When the envelope containing the products arrived, when I opened it I was hit with a gorgeous scent which wafted out. It was lovely, you could really smell the different scents in the products. I had been sent a selection of soaps and also some Orange Geranium Hand and Body Balm.

I decided to try the soaps first as after all that is what the Visionary Soap Company is named after. I discovered that all their soaps are made using the traditional cold process method and contain 60% Fairtrade certified ingredients instead of the 2% required for Fairtrade certification.

I was sent four small soap bars, which are the perfect size for taking on holiday or using for guest. I received Lavender, Lemongrass, Geranium Rose and Cinnamon Orange Clove.

photo Visionary_zps33a389cb.jpgThe fragrances are gorgeous and they produce a lovely lather. You can even smell the scent on your skin for a while after use. My favourite was the lemongrass as this is quite an unusual scent for a soap, but they are all fabulous. You can even see the little bits of petals in the soap. You can get a box of eight mini soaps for RRP £11.20 which would be a great way to try the soap or make a lovely gift.

I was also sent this Organic Shea Butter and Oatmeal Soap in a larger bar which comes in a box.

photo Visonary2_zps3f095032.jpgI found this soap fabulous for my dry skin, it left it feeling moisturised after use. I think the mix of shea butter with olive oil, coconut oil and oatmeal may well have done the trick. It is a lovely soap and is RRP £3.69 for 100g bar.

As well as soap the Visionary Soap Company also produce a range of bath and body oils, lips balms, bath melts and organic body butters. I tried this Orange Geranium Body Butter. RRP £6.85

photo Visonary4_zpsa646e0e5.jpgThis product is suitable for dry skin and can also be used if you have eczema which I do. It has a lovely orange smell which is not overpowering and the balm is very soft and fluffy when you apply it. I thought that it might be greasy but it isn’t, the skin just drinks it in and is left feeling soft and moisturised after use. Since using this my skin has improved greatly and I am very pleased with it.

I was very impressed with the Visionary Soap Companies products and it is good to know that by buying these products you are also helping local communities. You can buy Visionary Soap Products online on their website. You can also find them on https://www.facebook.com/visionarysoap and twitter @visionarysoap
