Schwartz 2 in1 Chicken Tikka Review

Although I love preparing meals from scratch, sometimes there are times when you just need a bit of inspiration in order to make something different. The other day was one of those days and I had a look in my cupboard to see what I could find. I came across this Schwartz 2 in 1 Chicken Tikka and Mint and Cucumber Raita recipe Mix. I had previously tried the Schwartz Garlic & Thyme Roast Chicken + Crispy Roast Potatoes and this had worked well so decided to try this one.

To make the dish you need to add chicken, cucumber, an onion and natural yoghurt to the recipe mixes, all of which I had in the fridge. Chicken Tikka is a meal I like but have never tried to make. This is where recipe mixes are handy as all the spices you need are in one packet. In this case the packet comes in two sections, one part has the Chicken Tikka spices and the other has the Mint and Cucumber Raita spices. They are clearly labelled so you can’t get them confused.

This is the chicken tikka mix when taken from the packet.

While the chicken was cooking I prepared the Mint and Cucumber Raita. I grated the cucumber, chopped the onion and added the spice mix.

This was then mixed with more yoghurt to make the raita which was served alongside the chicken tikka.

I served the final dish with savoury rice and was pleased with how it looked on the plate.

As well as looking nice it also tasted nice, the chicken was nicely flavoured without being too hot and spicy. The raita went really nicely with the whole dish, although I could not taste the mint in it. The cucumber made a nice cooling mouthful when mixed with the chicken. The whole dish was really simple to make. My husband and son also liked the meal, my husband actually commented that it was one of the nicest meals he had tried for a while which is a definite compliment. I will definitely try the Schwartz 2 in 1 chicken tikka again.

The Schwartz 2 in 1 mixes are RRP £1.29 and can be found in most supermarkets.

Disclosure: I was sent the Schwartz 2 in 1 Chicken Tikka Mix in order to do an honest review. I was not told what to write an my opinions are my own.
