You may remember some time ago I reviewed Puzzler World for the Nintendo DS, a great game for the puzzle fan. I was delighted to learn that the game is now available as an app so you can play it on your phone or your tablet. The Puzzler World App allows you to take your puzzles with you so you can do crosswords on the bus, a word search on the sofa or a codeword waiting at the doctors. It has been created by the people who write Puzzler magazine.
Once you download the game you can choose from a range of different types of puzzles, Wordsearch, Crosswords, Codewords, Spot the Difference as well as more unusual puzzles like Pathfinder, Piecewords, Backwords, Silhouette and plenty of others. There is plenty for everyone in the family to enjoy as the puzzles vary in difficulty.
The content synchronizes across devices so if you start a puzzle on your iPad and then go to your phone, you can pick up where you left off. If you get stuck you have the opportunity to get hints using hint coins. You have a certain number to start with but at the end of each puzzle you get to spin the whee of fortune and get awarded some more. The number of coins depends where the wheel lands. You may also be rewarded with free pack rewards and bonus score points.
The game also allows you to connect with friends allowing you to chat about your progress in the game and share your results. You could even get a hint from a friend if you are stuck. If you wish you can also share your results on facebook and twitter. The game is easy to use, it is interactive so you can just highlight the part of the puzzle you are working on and it will show the relevant clues. You can check your progress if you get stuck but it will use some hint coins.
The game is free to download and comes with a number of free puzzles and games so you can get started straight away. There is also the opportunity to buy in-app purchase puzzle packs to extend the range of puzzles available. The app will ensure you never receive the same puzzle pack twice. If you are fan of puzzles you will love the Puzzler World app. We ended up trying to solve the crossword as a family and it made for some great entertainment for the evening. I also use it a lot whilst traveling to work, it helps pass the time. My son also loves it and it keeps him quiet for ages as he tries to solve the puzzles.
The Puzzler World App is available on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/puzzler-world/id734369589?mt=8 and also in the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.puzzlermedia.pws
Disclosure: I was sent the game in order to do an honest review. I was not told what to write and my opinions are my own.
