A visit to Creams, Newcastle
Creams, Newcastle is a new dessert shop that is found near the Bigg market. If you are looking for a delicious dessert give it a try.
Recently we have been doing a tour of Newcastle’s hot dessert spots. We started by visiting Kaspas Desserts where we found ourselves spoiled for choice. We then went and tried out Beckleberry’s ice cream over at the Intu Metrocentre. Beckleberry’s ice cream is made locally and is well worth trying if you get the chance.
We also visited Di Meo’s gelato parlour when we visited the vintage bus rally at Whitley Bay, which was a fun day.
Recently Creams Newcastle opened on the Bigg Market, which is another late night haven for pudding lovers. It is open until 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and until midnight on a Friday and Saturday night.
Visiting Creams, Newcastle
Creams is right on the corner of the street and it has an elegant black exterior which begs to be noticed. Walking though the doors there are not that many seats inside, which could be a problem if it gets busy.
The seating is purple and the vibe reminded me of Kaspas. Overall the effect is much more toned down and slightly more glittery. Glitter balls suspended from the ceiling added to the disco vibe. Overall Creams had a calm feel and I did not feel I had to order quickly.
The menu at Creams
This was a good thing as the menu was extensive, a choice of waffles, crepes, milkshakes, sundaes and other assorted desserts. We deliberated for some time before deciding what to choose.
My son went for a fresh banana and hot custard waffle (£5.50) while I chose a strawberry and cream crepe (£5.50). Going up to the counter to order I noticed that the crepes were being cooked in full sight on a large crepe pan, which is always fun to watch. Our orders were taken quickly and the staff were really helpful.
We did not have to wait too long for our desserts which arrived separately. My son’s arrived first and he looked suitable impressed by his waffle. With a generous topping of bananas and custard as well as a side of ice cream it looked lovely. The ice cream was served Mr Whippy style which added a touch of panache to the dish. He quickly got stuck in and announced it was delicious.
My strawberry and cream crepe arrived with plenty of fresh strawberries, strawberry syrup, fresh ice cream and real cream. The crepe was lovely, warm and light. It went really well with the strawberries , cream and ice cream but I did find the strawberry syrup a little sweet and could have done with a bit less. It did not stop me finishing it however.
We enjoyed our visit to Creams Newcastle and I am sure we will be back to sample other desserts in the range. It is lovely to see these new dessert spots springing up in Newcastle and I am sure they will do a great trade with mums and kids in the school holidays and people who fancy something sweet after a drink or a meal in the evenings.

That waffle looks amazingly good. I wish Manchester had more dessert restaurants, but maybe that is a good thing they don’t haha.

I went past this the other day and I was wondering what it was like. I will have to pay it a visit soon as my daughter loves deserts so she would be in heaven here. Your crepes look amazing xx

I am not an eater of puddings when I am out due to being none dairy but boy do those look yummy, very well presented. You would not need much to eat for the rest of the day after one of these and could go straight for pudding.
