One way to make this blogger happy is to send me chocolate (or tea) and recently I got this lovely surprise in the post. It is part of the Christmas range from Hotel Chocolat, the Hotel Chocolat Festive Wreath. I love Christmas, it is always a good excuse to indulge in chocolate and the Hotel Chocolat Festive Wreath is something rather special.
It arrived in a silver box, tied with a lovely white ribbon. Unwrapping the ribbon and opening the box you can see the details on the wreath.
There is a beautiful bow at the top and underneath are the berries and leaves, all perfectly formed in the chocolate. When you open the box a gorgeous smell of chocolate wafts out, tempting you to eat it.
Here is a close up of the top to show the detail, it is almost a shame to eat it.
The wreath is made from 50% milk chocolate, cookies and caramel. If you break it open you can see the cookies and caramel.
You can also see how thick it is when you look at is sideways. I did worry I might have some problems breaking it up but with a little bit of force it snapped into pieces quite easily.
Now the most important thing about any chocolate is the taste, it is pointless it looking pretty if it does not taste nice. Hotel Chocolate do not let you down. This is absolutely gorgeous. The chocolate, although it is described as milk chocolate, is very rich and almost like dark chocolate. It contrasts perfectly with the rich sweet brittle caramel and the crunch of the biscuits. A small bit is really all that is needed as it feels so expensive and rich. The Hotel Chocolate Festive Wreath is really nice and you should definitely buy one for Christmas, it makes a really special treat.
The Hotel Chocolat Festive Wreath is RRP £20.00 for a 450g wreath. There is also a smaller 100g version available RRP £7.00. The Hotel Chocolat Festive Wreath is available in store or can be ordered online on the Hotel Chocolat website.

Disclosure: I was sent a Hotel Chocolat Festive Wreath for review but was not told what to write and any opinions are my own.
I had one of these last year (a variant of it anyway) and have to say it was fabulous. Quite a centre piece. I am tempted to get one for my Christmas table this year.
It was gorgeous, I am tempted to get another!
It looks very elegant. I also sent in my request for reviewing, but I guess after I was rather criticial about one of their Easter eggs, I’m on the blacklist nowadays, lol
It was amazingly detailed, almost a shame to eat it
Hotel Chocolat is the best mid range priced chocolatier on e uk high street. It’s beating thorntons and Lindt HANDS DOWN.
Not quite up there with the likes of Maison du Chocolat and valrhona but it’s getting there!
Happy new year x
