Recently I noticed that Amy Antoinette was running a blogger’s competition which is sponsored by Next. The challenge was to come up with three winter outfits using clothes and accessories from Next. I love a challenge and this sounded fun so I decided to have a go.
I came up with three different occasions that I would need an outfit for over the winter and used polyvore mood boards to display them. This was my first attempt using a Polyvore mood board and believe me it is a great way to waste loads of time. It is absorbing as well as being fun. So back to the challenge.
For my first outfit I wanted to have something that I could wear on a weekend walk with the dog. It needed to be warm and comfortable as well as practical. This is what I came up with.
Weekend Walk
I picked shoes that looked sturdy, ideal for walking along muddy paths. The bag is also easy to carry whilst having enough room for all the bits and pieces I carry with me, water bottles for my child, dog poo bags, my phone and all the other clutter you need on a walk. Jeans are always easy to wear and I loved the splash of colour on the top. The jacket looked warm and waterproof and I added a scarf to add a splash of colour.
The next situation I picked clothes for was the office.
Office Days
I don’t normally wear a skirt for the office but I really liked this tartan skirt, it would add a splash of colour on a winter day. I teamed it with a black coat and bag and high heels. High heels are not really practical for the winter but do go well with a skirt in the office. I would take a pair of boots with me for travelling to and from the office. Finally I chose a red coat as it just added that final splash of colour.
Winter would not be complete without parties and my final outfit is for party time.
Party Time
I just love the green dress, it is very Grecian and perfect for a party. I kept it simple and teamed it with a simple bracelet and a black bag, but couldn’t resist a little bit of sparkle on the shoes.
Those are my outfit choices, what do you think?
