A while ago I was sent some of the Macadamia Oil shampoo and conditioner to try out. I was interested to try it as it contains a mix of Macadamia Oil, which comes from the Macadamia nut and Argan Oil from Argan seeds. Both of these oils have great benefits to hair. The Macadamia nut is found in Australia and as well as being rich in essential fatty acids it resembles sebum. This is an oily substance that the skin secretes to make it waterproof and prevent hair drying out. This means the macadamia oil is easily absorbed by the hair leaving it soft. Argan oil is found in Morocco, and is rich in Omega 9 and other fatty acids and restores shine and softness to the hair. It sounded like a great combination.
The Macadamia Oil Shampoo and Conditioner came in very smart bottles. They were brown with green tops and had a elegant shape which looked lovely in the bathroom.
I liked the way that the label on the shampoo was light brown and the label on the conditioner was dark brown as it made it easy to grab the right bottle. Often I find I am using shampoo instead of conditioner if the bottles are too similar.
Macadamia Oil Rejuvenating Shampoo
Macadamia Oil shampoo is said to be good for all hair types, especially dry damaged hair. It will add moisture whilst protecting against the elements. The shampoo does not contain any parabens or sulphates which is good news. When I squeezed some out of the bottle into my hand I was surprised to see it had a pale golden colour, I was expecting white. It did not have a particularly powerful smell, what little it did have was nice.
The shampoo lathered up nicely and left my hair feeling soft. I also noticed it was less flyaway that it normally is, which was a big bonus. I liked this shampoo, but having used the bottle I found it is not very squeezable which makes it hard to get the shampoo out.
RRP £15.45 for 300 ml
Macadamia Oil Moisturising Rinse Conditioner
The Macadamia Oil Conditioner is a daily use conditioner that should nourish the hair and make it easy to brush though without it getting tangled. Like the shampoo it is sulphate and paraben free. This time when I squeezed it out of the bottle it was white in colour. Again it did not have a powerful smell. It felt nice on my hair and when I rinsed it off I was not left with a lot of greasy residue. My hair definitely felt softer and was easier to comb after use.
RRP £17.99 for 300 ml
I liked both these products and my hair is definitely feel softer and more manageable after using them for a while. These products are available at Macadamia salons nationwide. For stockist info visit www.macadamiahair.com or call 08448 40 30 40
