The week when I have been going out for my runs I have noticed that it is rather dark. I quite like running in the dark, watching the sun tint the sky with streaks of red and yellow as it wakes up. This week though it has been a bit of a problem. It is not so bad when I am running on the paths alongside the field. The street lights for the houses on the other side of the path spill their light over to where I am running. When I turn left to go up the hill it is a bit more of a problem. It is dark, almost pitch black. I can just about see the path I am running on but its not clear enough to avoid hazards. The path is very pebbly and has lots of loose stones on it. It is also used by horses who leave poo in their wake which is impossible to see on a dark morning. It is not nice when you step in it! I am going to have to change my route or invest in one of those torches on a headband like miners have.
The dog however loves it. He vanishes off at great speed into the woodland, you can just about see the plume of his tail waving like a flag. He chases off after things, probably rabbits, but often things only he can see. I think he would be incredibly surprised if he every caught up to a rabbit, they normally vanish into holes leaving him confused and wondering where they went. He often stops to look back at me as if to demand, why are you so slow.
On the running front I have been doing quite well. I have done 1.3 miles most day but did manage to do my furthest distance yet which was 1.65 miles. It is harder going when the air is cold as it makes me wheezy so I am pleased with that. Food wise, I still have not got round to phoning Jenny Craig. I must do that this week. I am putting it off because I am worried what questions they will ask me when I am at work! I have done reasonably on the eating front this week, trying not to eat too much junk.
When I went to weight myself though things got a bit confused. I found my son had set a weight loss goal for me which was to lose ten and a half stone. This would mean I would vanish to nothing as it is more than I weigh. I also found it had lost my weight from last week so I am totally confused. Apparently I gained two pounds. This was from two weeks ago though and as last week I put on three pounds does this mean I have lost one pound? I hope so, but I guess I will have to wait till next week to get a proper reading.
