Ragu Bolognese Sauce Review

PhotobucketRecently I was sent some Ragu Bolognese Sauce to try out and see what I thought.  Spaghetti Bolognese is one of my favourite meals as it is quick and easy to make. I don’t usually use cooking sauce because it is actually quite simple and I have found that some sauces can taste artificial. Having said that I was happy to give this a try.

Ragu Bolognese sauce comes in two types, Traditional Chunky which has large chunks of tomatoes or Original Smooth which is obviously smooth. I decided to try the chunky variety.

I chopped up some onions and mushrooms and cooked them in a pan until they were soft. I then added the mince and browned it. I then opened the jar of Ragu Bolognese sauce and added it to the pan. A lovely smell of tomatoes wafted out of the pan.

I cooked some spaghetti and simmered the mince in the sauce until it was cooked though. I then served it up.

It looked nice, the sauce was not too oily and it had nice chunks of tomato in. I have to say that it tasted delicious, the sauce was really full rich tomato flavour and it tasted exactly the way a home made spaghetti bolognese should taste.  The rest of the family really enjoyed it as well (including the dog who for some reason absolutely loves spaghetti). My husband actually said it was the best sauce he had ever tried, which is great praise indeed.

You can find out more about Ragu on their website and the sauces are in most supermarkets.

Disclosure: I was sent some Ragu sauces to try but was not told what to write and my opinions are my own.
