I hadn’t heard of the Sacla Food Blog of the Year Award but when a press release landed in my in box telling me that Emma Gardner had won I had to have a look. The Guild of Food Writers have awards every year which celebrate the most prestigious in food writing and broadcasting and showcase the best in the industry. This year Sacla sponsored the food blog of the year award and it was won by Emma Gardner, author of Poires au Chocolat (www.poiresauchocolat.net). I had a look at her blog and admit to coming away feeling hungry. There are some gorgeous recipes on there and the award was well deserved. I can only dream of being good enough to receive and award like this one day.
Emma faced stiff competition from Eat Like a Girl (www.eatlikeagirl.com) by Niamh Shields and The English Can Cook (www.marmitelover.blogspot.co.uk) by Kerstin Rodgers. The award was presented to Emma by Clare Blampied, Managing Director of Sacla’ UK. It looks like it was an amazing evening with the awards being presented to all the different winners and a fabulous menu to accompany the evening.
Sacla were very excited to sponsor the award and it is great that bloggers are being recognised along side broadcasters and book writers. There are a lot of fabulous food blogs out there which are well worth a read.
This year Sacla are launching a new range of pasta to complement their pesto and pasta sauce ranges as well as an Italian tomato sauce fridge pack and Sacla squeezy pesto sauce which will give us a great range to choose from. I was delighted to receive this hamper of their products to review.
I was particularly delighted with the recipe book and am looking forward to trying out the recipes and the range of sauces and reporting on my findings here. I have already been planning which recipes to try and this should keep me busy for some time to come.
