Naturally Powered Laundry Powder Review
I am a Buzzagent which means that I sometimes get sent new products to try out and tell people about. Recently I was sent some Naturally Powered Concentrated Non-Bio Laundry Powder. This is not a brand I had heard of before, it is part of a new range of environmentally friendly cleaning products that have been developed by Tesco. The products contain use essential oils like citrus, eucalyptus, pine and orange as well as ingredients derived from plants like corn, wheat, palm kernel and even potatoes. This makes it kind to the environment and to you.
All the products use combination technology in order to create a better clean, this means that small amounts of different ingredients have been combined together. It was found that this approach worked better than using a large amount of one ingredient.
The packaging is can all be recycled and is minimal. Inside the box you get the package of washing powder and cardboard cup for measuring it out in. The washing powder is concentrated so only a small amount needs to be used.
I decided to test it out on my white sheets which the dog had decided to bounce on with his muddy paws before I could catch him.
This is what they looked like before I washed them, you can see the mud stains clearly. I wasn’t sure if an ecologically friendly product would work well enough to remove them, sometimes they are not as good as ordinary products.
I was impressed, my sheets were lovely and clean. I looked all over and there was no sign of the muddy marks at all. I did wash the sheets at 60C as they are cotton but the washing powder works equally well at lower temperatures. It apparently cleans just as well at 15C, I only tested washes at 40C and was equally impressed. I also found that the washing had a lovely smell as well.
The powder I was using was the non-biological variety, but you can also get a biological version as well. Both have been dermatologically tested so they are kind to the skin. I have to be careful with the washing powder that I use as I have sensitive skin. I find that some washing powder can irritate my skin and bring me out in a rash, but I had absolutely no problems at all with this powder. I would definitely use it again as I was pleased with the results.
You can find the Naturally Powered Range in Tesco. The Naturally Powered Concentrated Non-Bio Washing power is RRP £3.50 for 800g which is enough for 13 loads of washing.
The Naturally Powered Range has a number of different products that will help you to spring clean your home. These range from surface cleaners to toilet cleaners to washing powder and fabric conditioner to washing up liquid. Father’s Day Gifts from Cocoon Collection
In case you have forgotten it is nearly Father’s Day. I always have problems finding presents for men, they are very difficult to buy for. If you are still looking for a Father’s day gift then have a look at Cocoon Collection. They have a great range of gifts that would suit any man.
When Cocoon Collection contacted me and asked if I would like to review one of their Father’s Day gifts I was spoiled for choice. I asked them to surprise me and when I explained that my Dad was a fruitcake and tea kind of man, they sent him this lovely gift.
It was a parcel that was beautifully wrapped in blue tissue paper and cellophane tied up with a white ribbon. There is something about a well presented gift that makes it look unique and extra special and I found this a lovely touch. I unwrapped it carefully to find this gorgeous Tea Time Treat.
It was perfect, a selection of tea, fruit cake and jam. I had to put the kettle on for dad so he could try it straight away.
The teabags are a box of 20 English Breakfast Teabags from Taylors. This is the sort of tea that tastes great at any time of day. The bags are the kind that have a little string on them so you can pull them out of your cup when it is brewed to perfection. This makes them seem more special than a box of ordinary tea bags. The tea is refreshing with a well rounded flavour.
The fruit cake is from Maggie Ramage and is described as an award winning 1940s English country recipe fruitcake ideal for serving with cheese. It may sound a bit odd to serve fruit cake with cheese but in our family my grandparents always used to serve Christmas cake with cheese. If you have never tried doing this try it, it is a lovely combination.
The cake is filled with sultanas and raisins and it is nice. It is a bit more like a fruit loaf and if you do not have a cheese a bit of butter sets it off to perfection.
The jams are from Mrs Bridges Celebration Collection and have a splash of champagne added to them for a touch of luxury. There are two strawberry jams and one marmalade in the set. These are the sort of jam that it is worth making scones for, it is rather too nice for ordinary toast in the morning.
My Dad loved this gift and it was something a little bit different from the socks and other practical items that I would normally get him. It is also something that I know he will use up and it will not lie around cluttering up the cupboards like some gifts can do.
The Tea Time Treat Gift is RRP £12.99.
I had a quick browse on the site and there is a lovely range of gift ideas, not just for Father’s Day but for birthdays, get well and for other members of the family as well. It is definitely worth having a browse if you are struggling to choose a gift for someone.
